Ditton Heritage Centre is an ideal place to organise your school's visit to discover the way that children lived and were educated in the Victorian era.
The old school building has now been restored, and part of it returned to being a Victorian schoolroom with furniture that gives the room and authentic feel.
Clothes of the period and Victorian artifacts are available to help the children identify with the life and experiences of being a child at that time.

Lessons will be given by the Victorian School Mistress, Miss Saltwell.

Sessions of 1-2 hours can be booked, with individual programmes being designed to suit the age and requirements of the group.

The local area provide great opportunities to cover further areas of the curriculum. Within walking distance are the Ditton Nature reserve, the 14th Century Parish Church, Ditton Ford (the only one existing in the Tonbridge & Malling area) and an Elizabethan Kentish Yeaman's House.
